In this guide, we’re going to cover what does ADT low battery mean? How can you stop the ADT alarm from beeping? How to replace the ADT battery? And more.
As you can see, we’ve got plenty to cover, so let’s not waste any time and dig right in.
What does ADT low battery mean?
This is a good question. Because if you don’t even know, what does ADT low battery even mean, then why should you even pay attention to it?
We mean, if it only means that you’re getting a notification on your ADT system’s screen saying, “low battery alert” and the notification has absolutely no consequences, then who even cares about it? Absolutely no one, that’s who.
Therefore, getting the proper answer to this question is incredibly important. Alright, since we’ve made it clear why a proper answer to this question is important, let’s talk about the answer.
When you get a notification on your screen saying, “low battery alert,” it means that the backup battery is low and therefore if you don’t recharge your battery or replace it (sometimes), then the ADT system will stop working.
As you can see, it’s important that you should take this alert seriously. Otherwise, you’ve spent money on your system but you no longer will reap the benefits.
Soon, we’ll talk about the solution to this problem. But first, you’re probably thinking, why am I hearing this awfully loud alarm and how can I make it stop.
It’s a good question, and this is what we’re going to talk about in the next section.
How do I stop my ADT alarm from beeping with a low battery?
If you prefer to watch a video, here you go.
As we’ve already said, it’s a good question. Because no one wants to hear this awfully loud noise. Making it stop before moving forward is the right thing to do, because who wants to torture their ears.
In most cases, the process for silencing the beeping is quite simple. Go to your device, and get your fingers jammed on the keyboard.
Alright, now look for the OFF button on the keyboard. Have you found it? If not, now worries. Some keyboards don’t have the OFF button. If that’s your case, don’t worry. Instead, look for # button and press it (it should get the job done).
If this doesn’t work, then you’ll have to do a bit more work. Go grab your user’s manual and find out how you can stop the beeping. You’ll find your solution there.
Meanwhile, to make the beeping less annoying you can turn down the sound a little by reducing the volume through the keyboard on your ADT system.
How do you fix ADT low battery?
If you’re getting the notification of low battery alert on your ADT system, it means that you will most likely have to buy a new battery.
Therefore, we’re not going to talk about how to recharge the battery, instead we’ll talk about how to change the battery.
Of course, this doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t even try charging the battery. The reason is, there is still some chance that your battery might be completely fine.
If this is the case with you, then you will save yourself some money. Alright, so how do you know if the battery is working fine or if it needs to be replaced?
Here is how. You charge the battery. You might say that I’ve tried to charge the battery for 2-4 hours and it’s still not working. This might seem like your battery is dead, and you need a new one.
It makes sense because if you’ve been charging the battery for hours and still you get nothing; it does seem like you need a new battery. So go ahead and order a new one.
But, before you do so, hear us out. We didn’t mean what we said. Why? Because the battery needs to be recharged for at least 48 hours before coming to the conclusion.
Alright, once your battery is fully recharged it’s most likely that the system will start running. But, it doesn’t mean that everything is fine. Because if there is something wrong with the battery, within an hour or two you’ll start seeing issues with the ADT system.
If that is your case, then we’re sorry to tell you that your battery has expired. Alright, now let’s talk about where you can get a new battery.
