  1. Check for the USB port on your flat screen. It is marked with a USB symbol to help you distinguish it in most cases. 
  2. Once you have identified the port, take the bigger end and plug it into the TV port and the other end into your phone. If you have done the connection successfully, the mobile device will start charging
  3. On the LG TV remote, press the source button, which will display a menu of items on the tv’s screen.

Considering that all mobile devices support Bluetooth functionality, you can connect an LG TV with a mobile phone. How do you do that?

Step 1: Enable Bluetooth on your mobile device

Move to the home screen and swipe down to display the notification screen. On this screen, please search for the Bluetooth icon and tap it.

Another way of connecting an android device to an LG tv is by casting or mirroring the mobile device to the screen. This process takes advantage of webOS technology. Below is how to do it;

Step 1: Navigate to the home screen

On your remote, press the home button to display the home screen.

Step 2: Search for the device connection icon

At the bottom part of your screen, scroll to the right, finding a blue icon with two plugs indicating two devices’ connection. Click on the icon to launch the device connector.

After launching the device connector, you will be prompted to select the device you want to connect to your tv. Scroll down until you find the smartphone icon. Select it.

Step 4: Select the type of connection

WebOS offers different types of connections.

Step 2: Select mobile hotspot and tethering

Scroll down to find the mobile hotspot and tethering on the current screen. Select this tab and continue.

Step 3: Activate the mobile hotspot

Toggle the button on the right side from OFF to ON to activate the mobile hotspot

After activating the hotspot, click hotspot to display your device’s name and the password. Take note of these details and keep your phone aside. 

Step 4: Open Network settings on the LG TV

Next, you need to open the network settings on your tv.

Press the settings icon to display various LG TV settings. On the left side, select Network using the remote controls.

Step 5: Wi-Fi network

On the other menu displayed on your right, after selecting Network, select Wi-Fi connection to display the available Wi-Fi networks.

Step 6: Select your mobile hotspot

If you have successfully activated the mobile hotspot, you should see your mobile hotspot displayed on the available Wi-Fi connections. Click on it.

Step 7: Enter details to connect

You will be prompted to enter the mobile hotspot password displayed on your phone. Use the remote controls to key in and press enter when you are done.

If you have entered the password correctly, the tv will take a few minutes to establish the connection. Your LG TV will be using the phone’s internet when it is done.
