Fitbit has become a part of daily life for many users. So some people might even want to wear Fitbit in the shower. But is it good for your Fitbit? Let’s find out.

Can I Wear My Fitbit In The Shower?

The answer is yes and no at the same time. You can wear your Fitbit devices in the shower since they are water-resistant. But Fitbit recommends not doing it to protect the devices from heat, soap, and shampoo exposure.

Most Fitbit fitness trackers are water-resistant up to 50 meters but not waterproof. They are designed to withstand heavy sweat during workouts or sporting. However, you should not wear them when taking a shower.

Hot water, shampoo, soap, and conditioner exposure can damage the internal circuits of your Fitbit device, and it might be irreversibly damaged. Fitbits are water-resistant, not waterproof. Although they tolerate all the sweat, you should not wear them in showers.

Doing so will cause long-term damage to your device. Plus, you may feel skin irritation while showering. Fitbit also recommends not to wear their devices in hot tubs and saunas. The temperature can damage their internal components.

Another reason not to wear them during showers is that these devices may lose their water-resistance capability with aging. So, wearing an old Fitbit while showering is highly likely damaged.

On top of that, not all Fitbit devices have official IP ratings. So, they are not tested officially for Ingress Protection Testing Standard.
