There are many benefits of connecting the Vivint smart hub with Wi-Fi. If you don’t connect the Vivint smart hub to the Wi-Fi you’re going to be missing out on all the great benefits.

So in this post, we’re going to help you connect the Vivint smart hub with the Wi-Fi.

How to PROPERLY Connect Vivint Smart Hub to Wi-Fi?

To connect the Vivint smart hub to Wi-Fi, first, you’ll have to connect the smart hub to the secondary router. Then you can go to the homepage and connect the smart hub to Wi-Fi. Below, we’ve explained the whole process step-by-step.

So we’re first going to walk you through the step-by-step process for connecting the smart hub to the secondary router. After you’ve successfully connected the smart hub to the writer, then you should read our next step-by-step process that is for connecting the smart hub to the Wi-Fi.

Now, let’s start, shall we?

Step 1: The first thing you’ve got to do is grab an ethernet cable. After you’ve got an Ethernet cable, do this. Run it through the existing primary router or the existing modern router.

Either will do so just use the one that has an outport.

Step 2: Now it’s time to connect the ethernet cable with the outport of the primary or modern router. Make sure the ethernet cable is connected firmly on both ends. The original router and the secondary one (modern or primary router).

Step 3: Now it’s time to take the final step for connecting both routers. Turn on the power source and wait for a few minutes so the power source can do the booting and start broadcasting wireless networks.

This process wouldn’t take any longer than 5 minutes. So after 5 minutes, turn on the power outlet.

Now that the secondary router is attached and ready to work, it’s time to take the next step. It’s time to connect the Vivint smart hub to Wi-Fi.

Connecting Vivint smart hub to Wi-Fi

So are you ready to connect the Vivint smart hub to the Wi-Fi so you can reap some awesome benefits? If you’re not, go take a bath or whatever is it that you’ve got to do and then come back and follow these steps.

Step 1: The first step you’ve got to take to connect the Vivint smart hub to the Wi-Fi is to go to the homepage of your Vivint panel. Have you opened the homepage yet? Awesome, now do this.

Look at the bottom right corner. You’ll see a few icons. Hover over them and click on the one that says Menu.

Step 2: Clicking on the menu will present multiple options on the screen of your panel. The third option from the bottom would be called, General.

The General option might not be located at the same spot on your panel, in that case, don’t click the third option from the bottom. Instead, click on the option called General, no matter where it is located.

After clicking on General, you’ll be asked to enter a 4-digit pin. Enter your pin here.

Step 3: After entering the pin, you’ll be taken to a new page. On this page, there are also going to be multiple options. Click on the one called Connectivity.

After clicking on Connectivity, you’ll be shown multiple options again. Now click on the one called Wi-Fi. No matter where it is located on the screen.

Step 4: You’ll be presented with the names of all the Wi-Fi networks available in your area. Make sure to click on the one that’s yours, otherwise, it won’t work.

Plus, if you’ve got multiple Wi-Fi networks to click on the one that you want to connect your Vivint smart hub with 🙂

Step 5: Now there is just one thing you’ve got to do and if you don’t do it right, everything else would have been for nothing. It’s not hard to guess what is the thing that you’ve got to do after selecting the Wi-Fi network you want to connect your smart hub with, so take a moment to guess what it is. If you couldn’t guess, then proceed to read the next paragraph.

So have you taken a guess? If not no worries, it was just to make the process a bit more exciting. If you did take a guess, are you ready to find out the answer? So here it is.

The answer to the question is…. Password. The last step is to type in your network’s password. See, we told you don’t do it right, even if one digit is misplaced then you just wouldn’t be able to connect your smart hub with the Wi-Fi.

That’s it! If you’ve followed all the steps we’ve mentioned correctly, then congratulations, you’ve successfully connected the Vivint smart hub to your Wi-Fi.

But this is not quite true. Because it’s still possible that your Vivint smart hub wouldn’t connect with your Wi-Fi.

There are three causes behind this problem. In the next section, we’re going to talk about all of them and we’re going to talk about both of them and we’re going to tell you their solution.

Why is my Vivint Smart hub not connecting to Wi-Fi?

Causes and Solutions

There are 3 causes why your Vivint smart hub is not connecting to the Wi-Fi. Below, we’ve written all of them and their solutions.

Incorrect password: We’ve explained this one already. Also, this one is not a puzzle because if you’ve typed your password wrong you won’t be able to connect your smart hub to Wi-Fi.

So, if your smart hub is not connecting to the internet, try typing in your password and again and really make sure that you’re typing everything right.

Problem with outlet: Check your power outlet. If there is something wrong with the power outlet and it’s not providing the current that is needed for the router to work, your smart hub won’t be able to connect to the internet.

If that’s the case with your outlet, buy a new one.

Wire not working: The wire that is connecting your original router to the secondary router is supposed to work properly and attach properly. If it doesn’t work, then you’ll need to buy a new wire. If it’s not attached properly, then simply attach the wire properly and reap the benefits.

That’s it! Now it’s time to conclude our post.
