Before we get to the step-by-step process, there is something that we’d like to highlight. You can’t perform a factory reset on the Fitbit Charge.

What!? We know, you’re thinning then why am I reading this post for so long. Are you guys liars? Well, that’s not true at all. We know you’re still not satisfied and you’re probably asking, “if that’s not true, then why did you say that you can’t perform a factory reset on Fitbit Charge?”

Well, we have to admit that we tricked you. But we did not trick you about the thing you think we tricked you about. Why don’t you take a moment and guess what we meant? We’ll answer it in the next paragraph.

If your answer is still that we lied about the solution, then we’d like you to take a moment and chill, because you’ll be happy once we reveal the answer.

If your guess was that, “they didn’t mention the model of the Fitbit Charge therefore they might not be talking about FItbit Charge 3,” then you’re absolutely right.

Because we were talking about the Fitbit Charge 2. So, you can say we tricked you, messed with you a little, but surely didn’t betray your trust.

Alright, with that out of the way let’s talk about how to perform the factory reset function on FItbit Charge 3. Alright, not too fast. Because first let’s talk about when you should perform a factory reset.

When to perform a factory reset?

If you know whether you should even perform a factory reset it would be better, right? Of course, because then you’ll know whether you should learn to perform the factory reset or not.

This is what you can learn by searching for these signs. If your device is showing one or more signs, then you should perform the factory reset. If your device is not showing even a single sign, then you shouldn’t perform the factory reset.

We’re going to guide you through the step-by-step process.

Step-by-step process

Alright, so are you ready to perform the factory reset function on Fitbit Charge 3? Of course you are, we guess we can say, “silly us” (for asking).

So!… Let’s not waste any further time and get straight to it.

Step 1: Grab a charging cable. Attach one end to the device and the other one into the USB port.

Step 2: Press and hold the button for two seconds (no more, no less). Now, without letting the button go, remove the charging cable from your tracker. Then, wait for 9 seconds before releasing the button.

Step 3: Press and hold the button again. Soon you’ll see “ALT” and white flash appear on your screen. Take your hand off the button and press and hold again.

Step 4: Soon you’ll feel the device vibrate. As soon as it does, take your hand off the button. Now, you must be getting kind of sick of the constant taking the hand off the button and then pressing the button.

Well, there is good news. You don’t have to do it much longer. But, as you might have already guessed, you do have to do it again. So, again press and hold the button.

Step 5: Hold it for a few seconds. Maybe 8 seconds. But, in case you see some changes made to your device sooner, then don’t hold it for 8 seconds, or even a second longer.

Here is the sign that you should let go of the button. The word ERROR will appear on your screen.

After this, just sit back and relax. That’s it! You’ve successfully performed the factory reset on your Fitbit Charge 3.

By following the steps we’ve mentioned, your problem should be solved easily. As you can see, we’ve explained the process in a quite simple and easy-to-understand manner.
