So you want to buy a Ring Chime, but you don’t know whether it’s worth it. You don’t know whether it’s loud enough and you don’t even know whether its volume frequency can be changed.
Don’t worry, because we’re going to answer these questions and more. If we’ve got your attention, let’s start.
Is the Ring Chime loud?
Yes, the Ring Chime Pro can be quite loud.
You can see this video to get an idea:
That was the simple answer. The real answer is Yes and No. Does it sound confusing? Don’t worry, we’ll simplify it soon.
So what did we mean when we said Yes and No? This is the best way to put it. When we said yes, we meant that ring chime does have the capacity to be loud enough for you to hear it ring, even if you’re sitting at the other end of the house. So yes, it’s loud enough.
Alright, but what did we mean when we said no? The answer to this one is pretty simple as well. We meant that by default, most ring chimes aren’t loud enough to be heard by people sitting at the other end of the house.
See, now everything is clear. Because now you know exactly what we meant when we said yes and what we meant when we said no.
That’s cool. But everything is not clear, is it? Of course, it’s not. Because not the question becomes, how do we make the ring chime louder? This question is a very good question, because if you don’t know how to make your ring chime louder, then it’ll most likely be worthless for you. It’ll be worthless because you won’t be able to hear it, so it won’t serve it’s core purpose.
So, let’s talk about the million dollar question shall we?
How can I make my ring chime louder?
In this section, we’re going to walk you through the step-by-step process for making your ring chime louder. The process is quite small and simple, therefore you won’t have any trouble doing it.
So, are you ready for the process? Of course you are otherwise why would you be reading this section at all? Silly us, we guess 🙂
So here it is, the process for increasing the volume of ring chime.
Step 1: Open the Ring App menu. To do so, first go to your ring chime app on the phone or computer. Then tap or click on the Ring App menu at the top left corner.
Step 2: Have you opened the menu yet? If you have, awesome. Now do this. Go to the option called Devices. There will be various options presented on your screen.
The Devices should be the 4th one from the top. Nonetheless, if it’s in any other position, still go to Devices 🙂
Step 3: There are names of one or more devices presented on your screen. Click on Chime or Chime Pro, whichever you’re using.
Step 4: After tapping or clicking on the name of your device, you’ll again be shown various options on the screen. Go to the second last option called Chime Tones.
Step 5: This is the last step. After completing this step, your chime ring won’t be the same. We’re speaking literally because it’ll produce the sound at a different frequency 🙂
Now that you’ve clicked or tap on Chime Tones, there will be an option called volume slider available on your screen. The slider will be available at either of these two places.
Right above or right below the option called sound. Either way it’ll be very easy to navigate, because there won’t be many options available in this section.
Now tap or click on the slider and move it to the right. Move it till it reaches the right end corner. This way your ring chime will produce noise to its loudest capacity.
If you find the noise of the ring chime to be too loud, you can follow these same steps again but at the end, move the volume slider a little to the left so you can reach the sound level that’s loud but not too loud.
Our post is almost completed, but before we conclude it there is one more thing that we would like to discuss. There is a common problem with ring chimes that many users experience.
Therefore, we’d like to address it and provide a solution for it. This is what we’re going to do in the next section.
How to hear the ringing doorbell inside the house? Ring Chime approach.
So this is the problem that we were talking about. Many times people install the ring chime but it doesn’t work or it works at the beginning but stops working soon.
Why does this problem occur? This is what we’re going to answer in this section and we’re going to talk about the solution, or the better way to put it is solutions.
Here is why we said solutions. Because there isn’t one cause for this problem. Actually, there are 3 causes for this problem. In this section, we’re going to introduce you to all of them and we’re going to walk you through the solution for each problem.
Sounds good? Of course, it does. But, in case it doesn’t because you may be thinking why would I have to go through this problem and if I run through this problem then I’ll worry about it.
Well, that doesn’t have to be the case. If you’re careful at first, you don’t have to run through these problems. By making sure these causes doesn’t stop your Ring Chime from working properly, you’ll be able to do just that.
So here we go, let’s start about the problems and the solutions.
Module not installed properly
This is the most common reason for this problem. This is because plenty of times the guys who are delivering ring chimes haven’t installed the module properly.
If this is your case, contact the support and they will send the guy to fix this issue.
Mechanical options is not enabled
This is another common reason. This is also the fault of the guy who installed it. But for this one, you don’t need a support rep to fix the issue.
It’s pretty simple and you can do this following these steps. Open the app go to Device settings > General settings > Enable Mechanical.
Amazon Alexa interfering
This one is usually not the issue, but it can certainly be the cause behind your problem. If you’ve tried the first two and your device is not working, then check whether Amazon Alexa is interfering and stopping the Ring Chime from working.
Go to your Alexa app > Device name > Doorbell Press Announcement > Disable. This should solve the problem.
