Alright, but what did we mean when we said no? The answer to this one is pretty simple as well. We meant that by default, most ring chimes aren’t loud enough to be heard by people sitting at the other end of the house.

That’s cool. But everything is not clear, is it? Of course, it’s not. Because not the question becomes, how do we make the ring chime louder? So here it is, the process for increasing the volume of the ring chime.
Step 1: Open the Ring App menu. To do so, first, go to your ring chime app on the phone or computer. Then tap or click on the Ring App menu at the top left corner.
Step 2: Have you opened the menu yet? If you have, awesome. Now do this. Go to the option called Devices. There will be various options presented on your screen.
The Devices should be the 4th one from the top. Nonetheless, if it’s in any other position, still go to Devices 🙂
Step 3: There are names of one or more devices presented on your screen. Click on Chime or Chime Pro, whichever you’re using.
Step 4: After tapping or clicking on the name of your device, you’ll again be shown various options on the screen. Go to the second last option called Chime Tones.

Mechanical options are not enabled
This is another common reason. This is also the fault of the guy who installed it. But for this one, you don’t need a support rep to fix the issue.
It’s pretty simple and you can do this following these steps. Open the app and go to Device settings > General settings > Enable Mechanical.
Amazon Alexa interfering
This one is usually not the issue, but it can certainly be the cause of your problem. If you’ve tried the first two and your device is not working, then check whether Amazon Alexa is interfering and stopping the Ring Chime from working.
Go to your Alexa app > Device name > Doorbell Press Announcement > Disable. This should solve the problem.
How to lower volume on ring chime?
- Open the Ring app on your smartphone or tablet.
- Tap on the three horizontal lines (≡) located in the top left corner of the screen.
- Tap on “Devices” from the menu that appears.
- From the list of devices, select the ring chome device that you want to adjust the volume for.
- Tap on “Device Settings” located underneath the selected device.
- Scroll down and tap on “General Settings.”
- In the “General Settings” section, tap on “Volume Settings.”
- You will see a volume slider for “Device Speaker (Two-Way Talk).” Adjust the slider to your preferred volume level.
- Once you have adjusted the volume, tap on the back arrow in the top left corner of the screen to save the changes.
