Dr H. T. D. S. Madusanka is an electronic expert with 10 years of experience, involved in the research and development of SMART HOME systems.

Homekit is an outstanding device that can really make your life easier and is something worth bragging about.

In this post, we’ll tell you what is Homekit, whether can you connect it to Samsung TV, what is Homepod, whether can you connect this device to Samsung TV, and much more.

So keep reading and find your answers.

What is Homekit?

Homekit is a very famous device of the tech giant, Apple.

It lets you control all the smart devices in your home without moving an inch from your couch or even moving your finger.

You can turn all the devices on or off, and bring the level up or down, by just pressing a button on your remote.

The benefits mentioned above were just a vague picture of what you can do. There is much more depth to this topic.

We’ll dive deeper into this topic later, but for now, let’s focus on the main question.

Can Samsung TV work with Homekit?

The quick answer to this question is, No.

Samsung TVs are not compatible with Apple’s Homekit.

By using a Homebridge hub or device, Samsung TV can be integrated with HomeKit. This integration enables you to control your Samsung TV through the HomeKit app on your iPhone or iPad.

Though if you like to use your Samsung TV with some other Apple device, here are a few.

Samsung TV has direct access to iTunes and a few great Apple TV Shows apps.

It is compatible with AirPlay 2. This app is fantastic for music lovers.

It lets you enjoy music in futuristic and amazing ways. One feature of the amazing app is that it lets you play music from your iPhone or IPad on a speaker, receiver, or smart TV (without attaching a wire).

Features of Homekit

Apple’s Homekit isn’t software or a product. It’s a framework that allows you to control smart devices such as thermostats, switches, lights, locks, cameras, etc.

You can control the accessories by pressing a button or using the Siri voice command. None of these two is really better than the other, it really comes down to preference.

But, the real benefits of these apps are that it allows you to control multiple devices, and it allows you to automate them.

For example, you can select that your doors will be locked after 10:00 pm and unlocked at 8:00 am.

You can automate the timing of any feature of the accessories mentioned below.

  • Routers
  • Sprinklers
  • Speakers
  • TVs
  • Humidifier
  • Air Conditioner
  • Fans
  • Garage Doors
  • Air Purifiers
  • Outlets
  • Lights
  • Sensors
  • Cameras
  • Locks
  • Switches
  • Thermostats
  • Window Blinds

How to Set Up HomeKit?

Setting up the Homekit with smart devices is easy.

You just need a Homekit and a smart accessory that’s compatible with Homekit.

If you have both tools available, then let’s get down to the business.

There are two fundamental questions related to setting up the Homekit device, and we’ve addressed them below.

How does the Homekit device connect?

The Homekit device can connect to appliances through Bluetooth, WiFi, or a Hub that connects to wifi.

The Homekit can be connected to most accessories in all the ways mentioned above.

But some accessories only connect one way. For example, Smart lights from LIFIX connected with only WiFi and Hue light bulbs need a Hub.

It’s also worth noting that buying the Hun is the best way of them all. Because without it, the connection range is very limited.

With the other two options, you can’t control the accessories from outside the home.

iPhone, Homepod, iPad, and Apple TV are all great devices to use as a hub

How to add accessories to the Homekit?

Step 1. Open up your iPhone and go to the Home app.

All IOS has this app pre-installed so you won’t need to download it.

Step 2. On the main screen of the Home app, Click on the Add Accessories button.

Step 3. Type in the name of the accessory.

Step 4. Scan the QR code of the smart product with your camera.

Step 5. Follow the on-screen commands until the accessory is added.

Now that we’ve covered everything related to Homekit, let’s talk about another awesome device from Apple, Homepod.

What is Homepod?

Consider Homepod as the iPhone for music lovers. I’ve made that comparison because the sound quality of this device is just that great.

Also, it has some awesome futuristic features that make you feel like you’re using a device that’s supposed to be in the future.

Below are just a few amazing features of this device:

  • The device has seven array beamforming tweeters, each with its own amplifier. These tweeters ensure that sound has the biggest booming effect with the smallest amount of distortion.
  • Homepod knows how to work the room. Doesn’t matter where you put it, the quality and pitch of the sound are going to be fantastic everywhere.
  • Let’s change the song, turn the volume up or down, change the pitch, bass, etc from any part of your home.
  • You just have to give Siri a command, and it’ll take care of the rest.

Now that you’re familiar with the device, let’s talk about whether you can use it with your Samsung TV or not.

Does Homepod work with Samsung TV?

The short is, No!

But don’t give up hope just yet, because there is a way to get the job done.

This way is not awesome, but it’s workable. You must connect your Samsung TV to an Apple TV and then route the ATVs audio to Homepod.

That’s the only way of making it work. We don’t recommend this approach, though.

Because you can use the Homepod with your iPhone or an iPad.

Conclusion

We’ve covered everything we know about Homekit and Homepod, and whether they can be connected to Samsung TV.

Hope you’ve found this information helpful.
