Fitbit users have been waiting since 2013 to enjoy the call-answering feature on their bands and smartwatches. Although several models of Fitbit smartwatches came into the market, the feature was not available until 2020.
The Fitbit sense released in September 2020 was a breathing moment for users, containing call answering and rejecting as a feature. The Fitbit Sense users could answer calls using the microphone and the built-in speaker.
Note: You can’t make calls directly from your Fitbit Sense device. You must have paired the Fitbit device with your Apple iPhone or Android device to make calls.
We found an easy way to enable call answering on both iPhone and Android devices. I hope you will find it easy too.
How To Set Up Fitbit Wrist Calls On Your Sense Device?
What you need :
You must have installed Fitbit OS 5.1 or a higher version to enable this feature. Also, you must have enabled the on-wrist call feature while updating or setting up the particular version.
- Open the Fitbit app
- Tap on the Today tab
- Click on your profile picture
- Tap on the device icon which you find in a list
- Click on the On-Wrist Calls
Note: From this moment onwards, you must follow two paths to complete the installation: an Android user and an Apple iPhone user.
Apple Users
Tap Start Up
We found that some users could not start the on-wrist call. In such cases, you have to open the settings on your Fitbit device and then Sense Controls/Calls. After you are finished, hit next.
Go To Bluetooth
You must open settings on your Apple iPhone and then go to Bluetooth. Then, your iPhone will start to scan for the new devices around.
Find The Device And Pair It With The Iphone.
You will see that in the app’s background if you have a Sense device or a Vera 3 device. You will see a number appear on your iPhone display and remember it. You must pair when you visit the same number on your Fitbit device.
Finish The Process
Go back to the App interface on your iPhone and hit “Done” to complete the process.
Android Users
You can use the steps we used on Apple iPhone to complete the on-wrist calls feature on your Android device. Although there can be slight differences in the opening messages, you may complete each step efficiently to pair up both devices, your Android device, and the Fitbit device.
We saw that some users complained about seeing a “See Instructions” button instead of the following one. It means you have not yet updated the Fitbit app to the latest version.
Note : You can simply get to Google Play Store and update the app
As a part of the pairing, you must see “Sense Controls” as a popping message. Please use the following steps if you don’t see them when trying to pair your Fitbit devices using Wi-Fi.
Note: Usually, this happens when the Fitbit device has not enabled Bluetooth.
Therefore, you must manually pair the Android device with your Fitbit device.
Get To Controls/Calls
You must open the settings app on your Fitbit watch and then go to Vibration & Audio. Next, you must open the on-wrist call section and go to Sense Controls/Calls.
Open Bluetooth On Your Android Device
You may use the notification slider or the Settings app to turn on Bluetooth.
Pair The Android Phone And The Fitbit Device
You will see a list of devices in the Bluetooth scanning and choose Sense Controls/Calls. When you tap on the Fitbit device, you will see a number.
The exact number will appear on your Fitbit device. As soon as you tap on “Pair,” the process will be complete.
Now you have completed the Paring process, you are ready to answer calls or reject them using your Fitbit device!
